We're Back!

We're back from our week in Disney World and happy to be home. A few more photos to come, though I didn't take many photos at all last week. I am hoping to get a few recipes and projects up towards the end of this week and next, but please excuse any lack of posting. Not being home for a week means that I wasn't making anything to share with you lovely people. Oh how I wish I had more time to create beautiful things to share with you all!

PS: This might be the BEST photo I've ever taken of Tim and I. Taken in Epcot; that bridge is the bridge between the U.K. and France. :)

Fall Favorites 2013

Fall is one of my favorite season to dress for. Some days are warm, some chilly. Layers are encouraged. Scarves are back in. And you don't need to worry about where you are going to put your peacoat when you go to a bar on the weekends. You know, the little things in life.

I guess it's pretty obviously that I'm feeling very black, white, tan, and gold this season, but that's pretty much every season recently. I read somewhere that black and white is "in" this season, which doesn't really make any sense to me since it's a classic, neutral color combination, but at least I can say I'm on trend. Black and white just always looks so good together, and it's fun to throw in different colored scarves and accessories. I also received my new iPhone in the mail, and I'm itching for one of these cases... still trying to decide...

1. Rifle Paper Co Rosa iPhone Case // 2. Paper Souce Donuts iPhone Case // 3. Rifle Paper Co Meow iPhone Case // 4.Bonfire Stories Tunic // 5. Anthropologie Floral Patchwork Scarf // 6. La Mer Bali Watch // 7. Jersey Cat-Printed Dress // 8. In the Stands Striped Shift Dress // 9. Caramel Corn Booties // 10. BonLook Alice Glasses in Pecan Toffee // 11. Geometric Necklace (no longer online, but the linked one is awesome too.) // 12. Tahitian Clutch.

Revolution. The Mindy Project. New Girl. Criminal Minds. Arrested Development. Hell on Wheels. Scandal. Mysteries at the Museum. Don Jon. Movie trailers for The Hunger Games 2.

Listening to....

Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell album on my car rides to and from work. Avicii: Wake Me Up. Our friends' band, Night Panther, who covered "I Wanna Be Your Man" on the new Beatles Reimagined album. Lorde: Pure Heroine. Lip Sync Battle with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Stephen Merchant, and Jimmy Fallon. Eastern Conference Champions. Joy the Baker podcasts.

Thinking about...

How much I want a new iMac. Coloring my hair for fall. Where we will move to once our lease is up next July. What clothes that I want to buy for the colder months. How keeping my nails painted is keeping me from biting them away. Halloween costumes. The best way to organize our new book/DVD shelf. Spending my nights lighting candles and drinking tea. Plaid. If I should post a recipe for oatmeal. THE WEEKEND.

October Goals

It seems strange that October is already upon us. I keep mentioning it, but as much as I love summer, the transition into fall is just magically over here in the Philadelphia area. The weather has been pretty awesome lately, and I hope that doesn't change for a while. As I write this, I am starting to feel a sore throat coming on and I'm not ready to break out my pea coat anytime soon.

Tim and I gave Insanity a serious go, but it wasn't right for us. Tim was seeing better result from going to the gym everyday and I was having a hard time with the time commitment and not seeing great results either. And I think it might have been a bit too intense for us anyway. But, it got me feeling good about dedicating some amount of time a few times a week to working out. I'm not very good at going to the gym, even though we have a really nice one in our apartment complex, so I've been switching between a few workout DVDs, and running outside. Trying to fit it into my life has been a challenge that I don't feel like I've beaten yet. Here's some goals for October...

  • A major Fall cleaning of the apartment. I really love the feeling of success when you have a freshly cleaned home, and we've been slacking a bit on this. Excited to work this into my monthly plan.
  • Start Christmas shopping. Does this sound crazy? I think it might. I really want to try and not pull too much from my savings account this Christmas, so planning and shopping early to spread out purchases is a must. Plus, I always enjoy the feeling of being "on top of things."
  • Focus on healthy living. I've been talking about this a lot, but hopefully one day it will stick. Hoping to exercise 2-3 times a week and focus on eating better meals.

Here's to a lovely October!

Tim's 26th Birthday

So, yesterday was Tim's birthday! He played a gig with the band he's in. There was surprise cupcakes after. And a late dinner with pumpkin beer. Tonight I'm making a nice dinner of things he enjoys and Saturday we are celebrating at some local bars with a group of friends. Just thought I'd give him a little shout out to the swellest guy around. :)

Hope you have some lovely weekend plan!
