It's been pretty lively around here lately. Christmas and New Years over, last weekend we celebrated my birthday. Yes, for the entire weekend. Our new sofa came Friday! And we purchased another piece of furniture for our entryway/kitchen area. This weekend was filled with smiling and good times. I wish every weekend could be that good...

Looking back on 2012, I am completely happy that this blog has finally happened and is slowly moving right along. 2012 has been the first year where I've been out of school, working a full-time job, living in T and I's own little home, and surviving. It's been a really exciting and fun year.
This blog has been a tremendously awesome experience for me. It's been an outlet for my recipes and crafts (which before I felt like I was doing in this vacuum of my couple of friends), a place for me to write and share what's going on in T and I's life, and a great way for me to work on my photography and Photoshop skills. I've really loved it and hope to continue to love sharing my favorite things on this blog.
Next year, I hope to get better at planning and making time for shooting photos and writing post, not so last minute. I hope to continue to be inspired by some of my favorite bloggers (and discover new favorite blogs!) and hope that, in some little way, I may be inspiring someone else. :)
[sorry for the iPhone photo!]
So Christmas has come and gone. It's amazing how much prep and excitement is built up for one day, one morning, one family dinner. This was T and I's first Christmas in true togetherness. Even though we've spent four Christmas together prior, this is the first one with our own home and tree with presents under it. It was a great deal of fun, trying to instill the same love of Christmas and opening presents that my mom shared with me for so many years. We've always done Christmas with a great deal of presents and a big breakfast. We did a lot of driving back and forth, but it was still a very nice day.
In true me-style, I took no photos of us doing anything. Not from Christmas day, Christmas morning, or the Christmas party we went to on Friday night. Thankfully, my friend took this one of us in our lovely Christmas sweaters. I hope you and your family had a lovely holiday!
Tree is decorated. Christmas shopping done (for the most part.) Presents wrapped. Cards mailed. Cookies made (&hopefully on the blog soon!) T and I are enjoying this season and the large amount of time we have together right now. I'm ready for Christmas parties, gift unwrapping, and cookie eating! And my week off from work next week!
Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season!
As I've said in previous posts, I am very into Christmas this year. And I knew that I wanted to have a Christmas tree because it would be T and I's first Christmas living together. We knew it would be a bit of a challenge to get a skinnier tree that was actually taller than me (all the skinny ones are like 5'5" and I didn't want to be taller than our tree), but it only took three places to find one that would work for us. It's pretty cute, with it's imperfections, but it fits great in the space and doesn't overcrowd the room. I'm always worried about that for some reason.
Each Christmas that we've been together, we've brought each other a Christmas ornament. I'm so happy that we started doing this from the beginning now that we actually have our tree to put them on. The filler ornaments and star we picked up at Target. Since don't have a tree skirt though, but I haven't looked very hard either...
We played Christmas music, I drank hot cider, we laughed. All in all, a great night.
