We're Back!

We're back from our week in Disney World and happy to be home. A few more photos to come, though I didn't take many photos at all last week. I am hoping to get a few recipes and projects up towards the end of this week and next, but please excuse any lack of posting. Not being home for a week means that I wasn't making anything to share with you lovely people. Oh how I wish I had more time to create beautiful things to share with you all!

PS: This might be the BEST photo I've ever taken of Tim and I. Taken in Epcot; that bridge is the bridge between the U.K. and France. :)

And We're Off...

Today Tim and I are off to Disney World for a family vacation. We're hoping for great weather, delicious food and drinks, and a lot of laughs.

Camping Vacation Snapshots

So we went tent camping in Lancaster, PA, last weekend and it was awesome. It was kind of a last minute decision and I'm so glad we decided to pull the trigger and go after talking about it all summer. Friday night we set up, made a fire, and cooked dinner and s'mores over the fire. Saturday we ate at the smorgasbord, drove around to a couple shopping areas and outlet stores, and had a lovely dinner and drinks at the Lancaster Brewing Company (their pumpkin beer is fantastic!)

Growing up, my family owned a pop-up camper and we went camping almost every summer, so camping really means a lot to me. Tim and I have talked on several occasions about hoping to purchase some kind of camper/trailer in the future, and that just seems like such a dream. I know camping isn't for everyone, and there are surely parts that aren't for me (bugs), but I think it's a really fun way to spend a weekend. This was the first time I had ever been tent camping and thanks to a giant queen-sized air mattress and our leak-free tent (it rained all Saturday night), it was just a charming experience.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I decided to make a hashtag (#TimDianaVacation) to document some of the vacations we have planned. I wanted to be able to look back on them easily, and I don't care if creating a hashtag for yourself is lame. Because I'm pretty lame anyway.

Proud tent parents. / My cute car was a camping champ! / Our weekend home. / Leopard print even camping. / Walking to the office for firewood. / A fun building on the grounds. / Leaves are falling. / My mom's make-up box that I always remember from camping as a kid! / Blowing up our giant air mattress. / Fall mums. / Pumpkins!

Vacation Highlights

I think everyone has their places that feel like a second home. For me, it's the beach. I've spent my whole life traveling to the beach for vacation. Before my parent's purchased their spot, we rented a house for a week with family. Out of everything I remember from my childhood, memories from the beach are probably some of the strongest.

As an adult, I've loved being able to share my love for the shore with Tim (who pretty much already loved the beach anyway, so it wasn't very hard to get him loving it again). We've even begun unintentionally creating our own little beach traditions that fit what we love to do (and eat!) This past week was a complete relaxation. We slept in a bit, relaxed on the beach, rode bikes, walked the boards, grilled, and had two campfires complete with s'mores. Safe to say we are looking forward to the next weekend we get to spend down there!

Photos: Lake in our campground / Car ride to Ocean City boardwalk / OC Boardwalk / Beating Tim in $4 mini-golf / Batting cages / Our hammock / Local herbs from West Cape May Farmer's Market / Tim with our watermelon drink / local eggplants and squash / I've been into tie-front tops lately / His & Hers from our second tasting at Cape May Brewery (This place is phenominal) / So many varieties on tap! / Honey Porter eyes / Kohr Brothers in Wildwood.

Away From Home

While T is busy at home with work and drum camp, I am down the shore until Sunday. No updates until then sadly. I am having trouble keeping up with photo taking and will be concentrating on getting my act together next week. More projects to come! Have a happy weekend!
